The Texas Nationalist Movement is a grassroots organization from - you guessed it - the great State of Texas. Their aim is to secede from the Union and form their own nation, and return Texas to the independence it had as the Republic of Texas in the 1830's. Their website claims to have more than 259,000 supporters, which is an impressive feat for a secession movement. The Independence group scored a major victory recently, where a 2/3 vote passed for the idea to go to a referendum on the Republican Party Platform. Though this group is not a Confederate group, it cannot be forgotten that the last time Texas Seceded from the Union, it was with the other Confederate States back in '61.
In the wake of the crisis that befell our heritage in the past two weeks, we have seen an uprising of Southern Pride, Honor to fallen Confederates, and even feelings of Secession in the South. Many people all over Dixieland were angry and defiant to federal voices telling us that we cannot answer to our heritage the way many feel we have been called to do. However, these feelings of anger have turned to passion, and we have seen Confederate rallies taking place on our Eastern Front. In South Carolina, a group of flag burners were met by 300 Confederate Supporters with flags in hand, and the flag burners were chased off. Parades have been made by people flying the Battle Flag out of their cars, trucks, and vans while going down local highways. A petition to return the Confederate Flag to Alabama's state capital had blown the original petition to remove the flag out of the water. All over Dixieland, we have heard the sympathetic "Rebel Yell" cascade over recent events and news stories. It seems that these feelings have rallied even the most moderate of Confederates to see the South "Rise Again". Thoughts and feelings of Secession have certainly crossed the minds of many Southerners, and some seem to be in support of the idea. But only time will tell if we see Dixieland truly achieve independence again. In the meantime, we are always trying our best to honor and respect those that fought for their independence the first time. Amidst all the hurt the Confederate Community is feeling in the wake of all of the flag removals and anti-Confederate sympathies out there, it is imperative that we remain positive. While there are many flags, banners, and even statues being taken down or vandalized, as well as many stores removing the flags and other related merchandise, we as a Confederate Community can - and will - rise up. One thing that cannot be taken from us is our flags. Confederate Nation calls on all Southerners to raise a flag over their home or business. We can still, as Confederates, share our pride and let people see what we do best. Whether it's putting a flag on a truck, or raising over a highway, the Government doesn't represent all of us - that's something only we can do. They can take it from the capital, but they cannot take it from us. Charleston, South Carolina In the wake of an unspeakable tragedy in Charleston, South Carolina, where innocent church goers were needlessly shot while praying, social chaos has ensued. At the forefront of this chaos is the Confederate Battle flag, a banner that has flown outside of the Statehouse since the year 2000. Many people from all over the nation have rallied to have the flag taken down, claiming it to be a symbol of hate and racial separation, which would have encouraged the motive of the shooter that ended the lives of nine innocent people last week. While many have tried to use the flag as a catalyst for the hate, many Confederate activists are standing up and trying to deter the people from their misunderstanding about the flag's origins, and symbolism. In a letter from past Commander - in - Chief of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, Michael Givens, Givens says time is of the essence to save our heritage: Compatriots and friends of fairness—your help is needed! It is clear to us that our flag's heritage is in danger of disappearing from public view. It has been reported elsewhere that major companies and national retailers are in the process of removing merchandise from their stores containing anything Confederate. The "Cleansing" of symbols of pivotal events in American history has not gone ignored from our Confederate organizations. Though big names and politicians can remove the Confederate flag, they cannot remove it from the hearts of those that fly it with pride for historical and heritage reasons, and not for those portrayed in today's media.
Therefore, Confederate Nation has issued a Call to Action for all of Dixieland: We urge all Confederates to call senators of any state threatening to remove, rename, or change anything Confederate related, be it flags, names, or statues. Confederate Nation urges all people to boycott the stores that have removed or recalled any Confederate flag materials, whenever possible. We urge all Confederates to fly any Confederate flag outside their home or business. Flagging and boycotts are all welcome. If you would like to submit a heritage violation, have any ideas, thoughts, or questions, comment below, or contact us. Thanks, and Deo Vindice, -The Confederate Nation Team Constitutional Carry is the act of Concealed Carry, except without a permit, as most states require in order to carry a gun on you. Constitutional Carry is legal in four States across the United States of America: Alaska, Arizona, Kansas, and Vermont. It has been brought up in the legislative bodies of many states, and many gun owners believe that there should not be anything standing between you and your Constitutionally given right to carry a loaded firearm on your hip. Now, it's time to hear your thoughts. Leave comment down below for the question of the day: Should Constitutional Carry be put into law in all states? Our new website has several new features. We are always looking for new ideas, partners, pages, and ways to help the Confederate Community be involved.
Our website is complete with a forum we have had since 2013. If you sign up and become a member on the forum, you can interact with other Confederates and the admins of this page to share news, ideas, and events. One account, totally free, ZERO hassle, and plenty of good people. The Call to Action Page is there for Southerners to look into the latest Heritage Violations, and where action needs to be taken to defend or forward (often both) the Confederate Cause. Find Pro-Southern pictures and banners to put on your page and promote the South on the "Banners" page. Find Flagging tips and events on the Flagging page. Our "Flags Across Dixie" page is a project Confederate Nation is in the works of creating. Therefore, much of the page is under construction. The goal of the project is to raise Confederate Flags all over the South, small or large. It's a costly and ambitious idea, but we know that it can be pulled off with your help. The reenacting page is designed to be a place for links, events, tips, and even some humor within the reenacting hobby. The Contact page is exactly that: Contact Us! We love to hear from our users on ideas, and what you want to see changed. Also, that's the place to submit reenacting, flagging, and other events, as well as report heritage violations to be put on the Call to Action page. We are always looking for good ideas from the community. Don't be shy! There are many ways to get into contact with us, and we are always happy to leave a reply. Texas, 2015
We all have seen the terrifying news coverage displaying the harrowing scenes of destruction in Texas after the most recent floods. The floods there have to this day not yet receded, and may not for several weeks. Some parts of the Lone Star State have seen more than 20 inches of rain, shattering records throughout the state. Our neighbors to the North, in Oklahoma, have not been spared the brunt of the severe rain, also sharing the flooding that has inundated so many Southern towns and homes. And yet, more rain is expected in the region for the remainder of this week. Many lives have been unfortunately taken by this flooding in Texas, Oklahoma, and Mexico. A casket was even found in the middle of a road, carried away by the flood waters. There were reported mudslides in the Texas panhandle, as well as a near dam break near Huston. Texas and Oklahoma are on their knees facing this most recent disaster. We urge all Southerners to stand by their sister states to the West, and support them in any way you can. To donate to the Red Cross, go to https://www.redcross.org/donate/neu2015-ua?flow=oc1 and support disaster relief. God Bless Dixie, and God Bless Texas. Bullock County, Alabama Earlier this month, Former Attorney Penn removed Confederate Flags from graves in Bullock County, Alabama. Today we learned in a newsletter from the Virginia Flaggers that those flags will be restored. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: This is wonderful news considering what had occured earlier this month. We would like to thank all those involved in returning the flags back to the graves of those Confederates. God bless the South! Photo not of the Bullock County, Alabama Cemetery
BULLOCK COUNTY, ALABAMA
This past weekend, Attorney Penn took it upon himself to remove Confederate symbols from Confederate Graves. Penn claims that the flags are a symbol of "darkness" in American history, reminding us all of a community divided. The flags were delivered to City Hall for the owner to pick up. What Attorney Penn doesn't realize is that he is breaking Alabama law, and not only that, but he is also on camera while doing the act. This kind of desecration cannot be tolerated in the South. Removal of flags tends to create tension where tension was not already present, and that is certainly not what is good for a community. What makes the act that much worse is that Penn is removing flags from graves. The men buried below the flags fought to the last to defend the banners Penn calls "dividing". Those men below Southern soil cannot defend the flag any longer, and that is why it our responsibility to do so. CALL TO ACTION Bullock County, Alabama residents, or surrounding residents, are called to action for the replacing of Confederate Flags on the graves of those soldiers. This kind of action cannot be tolerated by the Confederate community! |
